Meetings & Public Notices

The Town (like so many other people and places) are taking things one day at a time.    Since our office is set up as it is (a bulletproof wall between us and our customers) we will be continuing “business as usual” until told by the State or Federal government that we must close. We feel that this wall provides the appropriate “social distancing” that is being asked of everyone. We are continuing to be diligent in handwashing after every customer transaction. Until further notice, our office will be open our normal hours of 10:00 am. to 4:00 pm on Monday through Friday.  We hope that you and your families continue to be well and that this situation that we all find ourselves in is resolved as quickly as possible.

Marcia L. Parkhurst
Town Clerk

Hold on to Recyclables until Feb. 10, 2022

Due to a COVID outbreak at the County Jail, the Coos County Recycling Center (which Columbia belongs to) will not be able to handle any sort of recyclable materials (cardboard, plastic, glass, etc.).  We are asking that residents hold on to their recyclables and NOT add them to your regular household waste.  We are requesting this because putting them with your regular trash increases the tonnage and ends up costing the Town more money plus losing the revenue that we get from selling the recyclables.   PLEASE HOLD ON TO YOUR RECYCLABLES UNTIL FEBRUARY 10TH.  AT THAT TIME, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DISPOSE OF THEM AS NORMAL.
